“Today’s tourism industry calls for greater customer service and communication skills for the Pacific Islands to be a preferred destination of choice,” says Evelyn Maseng, Tourism Trainer for the Australia Pacific Training Coalition (APTC), and Vanuatu representative for the 2019 Pacific Islands Tourism Professional Fellow Program hosted by the East-West Center in Honolulu, Hawai’i in the United States.

The Australia Pacific Training Coalition (APTC) delivered an intensive International Skills Training (IST) in Nauru last month. IST is an internationally accredited program aimed at training and assessing adult learners in technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in their respective industry areas.​

The Australia Pacific Training Coalition (APTC) awarded 40 Samoans, of whom 22 are women, with internationally recognised qualifications at a graduation ceremony in Apia on Thursday 19 September.
